Experience
In 1990, I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Upon graduation, I was living in Heber City, Utah and began working at New Beginnings Preschool in nearby Park City. I worked there for about a year and a half, teaching a preschool group of 4-year-olds. I then worked for the Head Start program in Heber City for one school year. In 1993, I was hired by the Wasatch County School District to teach Kindergarten. I taught kindergarten until 1997 in Heber City. With three daughters, I then made the move back to Lovell wanting to be closer to home and family. I considered myself very lucky to be able to work at LHS in January of 1998 for one semester. My job was to help students that had fallen behind in their classwork or were failing classes. It was quite an interesting switch to go from teaching little kids to high school students but rewarding to be able to help. That spring, I was hired by Big Horn County School District #2 to teach 3rd grade in the fall of 1998. I was just diving into 3rd grade when Nancy Cerroni was looking for a partner to try a different teaching method called "looping". The idea of looping, being that the classroom teacher would stay with the same group of students for two years, cutting down on the "get to know you time" at the beginning of the second school year together and increase instruction time. I was eager to give this method a try and continued to loop with three different groups of students teaching 2nd and 3rd grade with each group. I worked with Nancy Cerroni, Jodi Strom and Geraldine Hendershot throughout these cycles. As looping came to an end in our school district, I stayed in 2nd grade for the next several years. In 2007, I was looking for a new challenge and decided to begin the necessary coursework to obtain my library/media endorsement. Upon completion of that, I began coaching the LHS cheerleaders in the fall of 2008 and continued with that program until the Spring of 2014. In 2009, I was given the opportunity to work with students in the Title 1 Math position. Working with students in small groups and one to one was a pleasant change. I continued in Title, teaching both Math and Reading. In 2011, I was offered the challenge of being trained to be a Reading Recovery teacher. The training year would last one school year and for the duration of that year I would travel to Sheridan, WY once a week for class. This was a very busy, very challenging school year. It was tough to teach, be in the training program and coach cheerleading all at the same time. The training was intense but worth it. I have continued with the required training to be a Reading Recovery teacher and am starting my 13th year in that program. I work with first grade students individually in a 20-week reading intervention. I also work with small groups of K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students in reading instruction and intervention.

Bio
I am a hometown girl, being born and raised right here in Lovell, WY. I am a graduate of Lovell High School and am a diehard Bulldog fan. My mom, Nancy Robison, was the secretary at Lovell Elementary School for 47 years. So, my entire life, my mom worked for the school district. I was raised at Lovell Elementary School, and it was truly my second home. At one point in my teaching career, I taught 3rd grade in the very classroom that was my own third grade classroom in elementary school. My husband, Reed Ohman and I went to school together and have known each other since kindergarten. We were married in March 2003, and together have four daughters. We are currently raising two of our grandchildren, Gage, who turned 14 this past September and Piper Reed who is nine years old. As a family we love to go camping on the mountain and boating on the lake. Reed is an avid hunter and fisherman.  I love to spend time at home, reading books, watching movies and spending time with my family.
